A device is disclosed for the in situ removal of metal particles carried by lubricating oil in machinery. A plug for insertion through the machinery casing has an axial bore. A sheath of diamagnetic material is fitted in the bore. A permanent magnet is located in the sheath with north and south poles exposed at the inner end of the plug. |
