<p>PURPOSE: To reduce power loss of a section cable by adjusting the ratio of two partial currents as a function of the momentary condition of a vehicle and/or as a function of the ratio of a distance of progressively activated stator winding sections from one of sub-stations to the length of the section cable between two sub-stations. CONSTITUTION: A speed regulator 31 delivers a control signal to a current distribution block 35 where the current is regulated to a level required for attaining a rated speed. Vehicle position signal fro a line 34 is also inputted to a track data memory 46 having output connected with the block 35. Output 35A of the block 35 is connected with a sub-station 18A and a signal for controlling the sub-station voltage regulating the instantaneous level of current is outputted. Furthermore, a corresponding control signal is delivered to a sub-station 18B (output 36B) and sub-stations 24A, 24B. Actual speed measurement signal of a vehicle 5 is applied to the regulator 31 and the block 35. The regulator 31 compares the actual speed measurement with a nominal value and regulates the current to sustain the nominal speed.</p> |
