SHRINKING COPOLYESTHER FIBRES AND METHOD OF THEIR PREPARATION

The coagulating copolyester fibres with high coagulating forces and good coagulating properties can be acquired even with a low content of comonomer up to 3.9 percent by mol, if the polymer chains are also branched by addition of 0.05 to 1.0 percent by mol of three-functional or more functional alcohols. Neither melting temperature nor thermal resistance is substantially decreased with this type and the recovery properties of the fibres are improved. To advantage, industrial pentaerythritol with the content of monopentaerythritol above 70 percent by weight can be used for branching.
