<p>A tear and puncture resistant glove for hospital examinations and surgical procedures. The glove comprises a multilayer fabric, including at least one layer (8) of multifilament fabric made from a polymer of paraphenyline-diamine and terephthalic acid and two layers (6) of polyurethane film, which serve as the outer layers of the glove. The layers are bound together by an adhesive (10) which fixes into place the fibers (8) of multifilament polymeric fabric. The resulting glove provides for up to a fifty fold increase in resistance to puncture from standard hospital and IV needles and other sharp instruments.</p> |
