The wt. ratios in the mixt. between the silicone polyester and the wax are 6:0.3 to 6:2, and the wt. of the silicone in the mixt. is approx. 1% to 5% of the wt. of the silicone polyester. The mixt. prior to application contains a solvent which constitutes approx. half the mixt. wt., and a softener. The protective layer is applied with a thickness of approx. 10 to 100 micrometres, pref. 30 to 50 micrometres. The basic product consists of iron or steel material which is zinc-plated by a heat process, the zinc being applied to a thickness of e.g. 100 micrometres. The silicon polyester has the property of adhering very strongly to the zinc surface, whilst the silicone oil and wax provide for the surface remaining flexible and tough in the dried state. |
