The invention relates to a continuously variable driving unit of a motor vehicle with a controllable internal combustion engine and a hydromechanical power split gearbox (1) with a continuously variable reduction ratio. The resistance of the gearbox is set to a minimum when the driving unit is installed and the stationary vehicle does not move unintentionally when the internal combustion engine is idling or during a warm-up period.
