The fuse insert has a cylindrical housing (1) of an insulating material enclosing the fuse element (2), which is supported between knife contacts (3). The latter fit through end plates (6) at the opposing ends of the cylindrical housing (1), with attached metal tongues (5) each clamped between one of the end plates (6) and the adjacent end face (4) of the cylindrical housing (1). Pref. each tongue (5) has a locating opening receiving a projection (8) of the insulating cylindrical housing (1). ADVANTAGE - Stable tongues at each end of housing.
