INCOMBUSTIBLE AND INSECT PROOF CABLE

PURPOSE:To obtain a cable with high mechanical strength, incombustibility, and insect proof by composing an outer protective film with an inner layer to retain incombustibility and and outer layer to retain insect proof. CONSTITUTION:An outer protective film has a bilayer structure comprised of an inner layer and an outer layer formed on the inner layer. The inner layer is formed with a poly(vinyl chloride) mixture or a polyolefin mixture and its oxygen index is set to be >=30. The outer layer formed on the inner layer is formed with a poly(butylene terephthalate) mixture or a polyamide mixture and its oxygen index is set to be >=27. The thickness of the inner layer is set to be >=50% and <95% to the total thickness of the protective layer and preferably >=70% and <90%. In this way, incombustibility is retained by the inner layer and insect proof is retained by the outer layer.
