PURPOSE:To select a filter characteristic suitable for each mode by varying the characteristic of a filter means corresponding to the changeover of the pickup mode. CONSTITUTION:When a field recording mode is selected, a switch 14 is thrown to the position of a lower terminal, and an output of an A/D converter 7 is subject to band limit via a digital filter circuit 8. Signal compression by sub Nyquist sampling is applied to the picture signal subject to band limit corresponding to the field recording mode by a sampling circuit 9 and the compressed picture signal is recorded in a memory 11. On the other hand, when the frame recording mode is selected, the switch 14 is thrown to the position of an upper terminal, the output of the A/D converter 7 bypasses the digital filter circuit 8 and is inputted directly to the sampling circuit 9. |
