PURPOSE:To obtain the microporous carbon material with no need for granulation, forming and oxidation by pulverizing coal into a specified grain size, charging the pulverized coal into a dry-distillation furnace and distilling the coal. CONSTITUTION:Coal is pulverized to <=5mu, charged into a dry-distillation furnace and dried to obtain the desired carbon material. Since the coal is pulverized to <=5mu and the grain size is uniformized, the surface area of the coal fine grains is increased, the surface is oxidized by air in crushing, and the coal is oxidized as in the conventional oxidation. In addition, the grain size is controlled to <=5mu, and the lower limit of the grain size need not be determined. The pulverized coal need not be lumped, and the coal as such is charged into the furnace and preferably distilled at the heating rate of <=50 deg.C/min. The bubbles of the volatile liberated from the inside and surface of the coal fine grains are stably distributed by controlling the heating rate to <=50 deg.C/min. |
