Process for obtaining and separating syringic aldehyde and vanillin from lignic materials. A process for obtaining syringic aldehyde and vanillin from materials of a lignic nature, especially precipitated lignin. The process is based on the release of monomer through alkaline-oxidising treatment followed by extraction with chloroform or any other chlorohydrocarbon solvent for subsequently obtaining bisulphite compounds of the aldehydes from the organic extract. These compounds are reextracted for purification and differential separation with an alkali, making use of the different acidities of the vanillin and the syringic aldehyde.
