PURPOSE:To reduce a detection time by connecting an incident optical fiber and a reflecting optical fiber to an optical prism and arranging a collecting hood, to a lower surface of which a long-sized object is mounted diagonally in the upper direction, before a front wall plate. CONSTITUTION:A round bar 30, whose top end is diagonally cut, is mounted diagonally in the upper direction, in a manner wherein the top end appears in a detection surface 5a of an optical prism 5, to a lower end part in the central portion of a collecting hood 22, and a gap (g) is formed. Next grains of oil are successively collected in the hood 22 to be stuck to the round bar 30, guided to the top end along a lower surface and brought into contact with the detection surface 5a. Subsequently, a laser beam 36a is incident upon the detection surface 5a from an incident optical fiber 7, thereafter intensity of a laser beam 36b, reflected from the detection surface 5a, is measured. In this way, the leakage of oil can be quickly detected. |
