<p>This apparatus comprises, on either side of the horizontal median plane (P), packages (1) moving over a succession of belt conveyors (86, 7 and 8), - on the one hand, to the station for loading the articles, a preshaper (A1) and a shaper (A2) bringing each of the films, respectively the upper and lower films, from a plane configuration to a semi-tunnel-shaped configuration covering the package and having in cross-section the shape of a "U" whose arms are provided with external lateral turned-back regions, - on the other hand, immediately downstream from the zone for forming the semi-tunnels, and on either side of the sides of these tunnels, vertical heating blades (92) for cutting off the turned-back regions and forming two longitudinal, thin and straight welds joining the sides of the semi-tunnels, - while the means communicating the pulling force to each of the films (2-3), to the tunnel and to the article (1) disposed in this tunnel are constituted, from the loading station up to the beginning of the conveyor (8) for removing the packages, solely by the transverse jaws (15-17) for welding and cutting of the films. <IMAGE></p> |
