PURPOSE:To miniaturize the optical switch by using a 5th base body in which the respective optical fibers of one set of the optical fiber pair turn back and are exposed at the same joint end face. CONSTITUTION:This optical switch has 1st to 3rd base bodies 10, 20, 30 which have at least one set of the optical fiber pairs and the 4th and 5th base bodies 40, 50 which have at least two sets of the optical fiber pairs and are disposed freely movably along the joint end faces between the 1st and 2nd and the 2nd and 3rd base bodies 10, 20, 30 by butting the respective joint end faces against each other. The constitution in which at least one set of the optical fiber pairs intersect each other in the inside is adopted for the 4th base body 40 and the constitution in which the respective optical fibers of at least one set of the optical fiber pairs are turned back and are exposed on the same joint end face is adopted for the 5th base body 50. A through function, cross function and turn back function are attained with the single switch by moving the 4th, 5th base bodies 40, 50 in this way. |
