PURPOSE:To prevent the clogging or the like of a discharge port even when an ink jet head is detached from a recording device body by a method wherein the ink jet head is made so as to rotate relatively to an ink tank and engage at two positions, and a member for capping a discharge port surface of the ink jet head is abutted on the ink jet head at one position. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head 1 is mounted so as to rotate in the range between a rotation position where an ink discharge port is exposed to an ink tank 3 to come into a recording state and a second rotation position where an ink discharge port surface is capped to come into a capping state. The ink jet head 1 is rotated in a direction of an arrow A, whereby the discharge port surface 1a is brought into close contact with a rib 6a of a cap 6 to be capped. In this manner, the clogging of the ink discharge port 1b caused by drying or the like can be prevented. |
