PURPOSE:To perform the stable transfer by a simple mechanism by using a soft material for at least either of an image carrier and a transfer material and providing a pressing means which is formed of a soft material and presses the transfer material and/or image carrier made of the soft material from its reverse surface side against the other when a toner image is transferred. CONSTITUTION:At least either of the image carrier 44 and transfer material is made of the soft material and the pressing means 94 which is made of the soft material and presses the transfer material and/or image carrier 44 from its reverse surface side against the other when the toner image is transferred is provided. Then the toner image formed on the image carrier 44 with the liquid developer 54 which contains at least toner particles and carrier liquid is dried by a drying means 40 and then transferred to a transfer material by an electrostatic transfer means 46. At this time, the pressing means 94 formed of the soft material presses the transfer material and/or image carrier 44 made of the soft material from the reverse surface side against the other. Consequently, the stable transfer is performed by the simple mechanism. |
