Process for the treatment and use of pyrolysis and combustion products obtained in a gasifier (1) containing a fluidised bed (2) charged with fuel originating from urban refuse and/or industrial waste, which consists, on the one hand, in separating from the gas phase carrying solid particles and escaping at the top of the fluidised bed, at a higher temperature at which all the pyrolysis gases are in vapour form, the inert particles and the carbon particles of a size which is too great for them to ignite instantly in air and, on the other hand, in employing the gas phase freed from these particles, while it is maintained at a temperature above 300 DEG C, as fuel in a boiler (4).
