PURPOSE: To reduce an optical defect such as a pinhole in a vacuum coating heat mode recording layer by laminating a protective organic resin layer of a web shape on a recording layer supported by an adhesive layer in the same vacuum environment as generating a coating. CONSTITUTION: Metal vapor of a bismuth 3 in a heat resistant tray or boat 2 of a cylindrical vacuum chamber 1 is directed toward a web 4 formed of a polyethylene terephthalate, and adhered in a thickness of a range of 5 to 300 nm. The web 4 is sent upward, and met to a laminated web 9 in a nip formed between a support roller 11 and a pressure roller 10. The laminated web 9 carried from a feeding roll 13 into the nip is made of a flexible pressure sensitive transparent adhesive layer between a temporary support and a hard protective resin layer. The adhesive layer having the hard protective layer is stuck to a newly deposited metal layer, and the formed laminate 14 is wound on a take-up roll 12. |
