PURPOSE:To manufacture sheet ceramics of a predetermined shape such as a curved form and a corrugated form and also ceramics of various shapes having these composite forms by a simple method by punching a green sheet made of an inorganic heat-resistant material by the punching to form it into a sheet-structural member with a predetermined shape, and thereafter by applying the heat treatment to the resultant sheet-structural member. CONSTITUTION:Rehydrating alumina, molten silica, 6-potassium titanate, the suitable amount of cellulosic fiber as a molding binder, fat and oil, and water are kneaded together to perform extrusion molding, whereby a green sheet is obtained and cut. Thereafter, the green sheet thus cut is punched by the punching to obtain a sheet-structural member 1. Furthermore, the sheet-structural member 1 is sandwiched from both surfaces thereof by curved jigs 2 and 3 so as to be formed into a curved-face shape with a curvature radius of 60mm. After the resultant member has been dried, the same is treated by heating to obtain curved sheet-like honeycomb ceramics 4. |
