In a switching installation having switching springs 1, 2, associated chambers 5 are provided with pressure sensors 7 for monitoring the gas pressure. The pressure measuring signals from these pressure sensors 7 are fed to a processor in a controller 8, and are there logically combined with a temperature signal from a temperature sensor 11 and processed to form switching or display signals. In order to be able, in a simple way, to make reliable statements about the switching or display signals or to carry out switching measures, the switching or display signal is corrected as a function of the ambient temperature of the chamber.
