Plastic lining stripping - from steel strip end by heating in cyclic hydrocarbon solvent, quenching and brushing
摘要

When the end of a metal band e.g. a steel strip has to be stripped of its plastic coating, e.g. a plastic polymer, the end is heated to at least 140 (160) deg. C for at least 10 seconds (20-30) in a solvent based on a high-boiling cyclic hydrocarbon. After quenching in a liq. (water) the plastic layer is removed mechanically. The tray (2) in the container (1) is filledd with a solvent made of a cyclic hydrocarbon. A steel plate (3) bilaterally coated with polyethylene, has to be stripped at the end e.g. for a welded joint to another plate. Fresh solvent from the storage tank (9) can be added through the pipe (10). The tray is removed sideways and spray nozzles on both sides spray water on the end. This passes with the polymer flocks in the tanks (7,8) where the solvent can be sepd. from the water. USE/ADVANTAGE - Electrical cable mfr. This is a simple and quick stripping method.
