HIGHLY SHRINKABLE ACRYLIC FILAMENT YARN AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Highly shrinkable acrylic filament yarn exhibits (a) a deg. of shrinking 20% or more in boiling water; (b) max. heat shrinking stress of 0.15 g per d or more in a dry heating atmos. and (c) Young's modulus of 280 Kg per sq. mm or more after free shrinking treatment in boiling water. Pref. temp. in (b) is 90-130 deg.C. Opt. yarn is coloured and can have crimps and false twists. The obtd. filament yarn can be blended with other yarns or fabrics to form twisted yarns, combined filament yarns, union woven fabrics or union knitted fabrics.
