PURPOSE:To perform polarizing multiple recording excellent in recording stability by uniformly orienting an association compound of a dye in the horizontal direction of a recording layer to provide anisotropy to said recording layer. CONSTITUTION:For example, a photochromic material having a specific composition is used to be resolved in benzene and the resulting solution is applied to a substrate using an LB method to form a recording layer to prepare an optical recording medium. In this state, there is no anisotropy due to a polarizing ultraviolet visible absorption spectrum in a normal line direction in the surface of the recording layer and, when said recording layer is irradiated with ultrasonic rays, a chemical change is generated in the substrate and the material transparent at the beginning becomes a red colored material. When this colored material is irradiated with ultraviolet rays while heated to 35 deg.C, said colored material forms an association compound and this association compound is uniformly oriented in the surface of the recording layer by observation due to an optical microscope and the measurement of a polarizing visible absorption spectrum. |
