An electromagnetic switching relay is intended to be improved such that the retaining body for central accommodation of the electromagnetic drive and the parts which belong to the spring group each have an intrinsically autonomous retaining chamber (8, 9), the separation (isolation) of these chambers being designed such that the required tracking paths (leakage paths) and air gaps are achieved with the aid of the suitably constructed operating device (13).
