This installation comprises: - a storage magazine 2 consisting of a plurality of substantially vertical channels 3, of which the lower end 4, raised with respect to the ground, is equipped with removable partial closing-off means 8, 9, and in each of which a stack of objects 10 is intended to be packaged; - a plurality of carriages 7 which can be displaced on guide rails or the like, displaceable independently under the article-storage channels, each one of which is equipped with a device for removing the articles stored in the channels and transferring these articles into receptacles 11 carried by the carriage, and each one of which is equipped with an on-board computer controlling its path and the removal of the products from the various product-storage channels. <IMAGE>
