Flexible support surface for photovoltaic cells

The support surface uses a roofing skin tensioned across a number of supports, its outer surface supporting an array of photovoltaic cells allowing direct conversion of the incident light into electrical energy. Pref. the roofing skin comprises a tear-resistant membrane, with the photovoltaic cells supported in a floating condition between this membrane and an overlying protective foil.
