The manufacturing method has a part of the locomotive housing providing the rear wall of the driving cab provided with interior fittings, e.g. a driver desk and associated cabling and electronics, before the housing part is connected to a further locomotive housing part. A function check for the interior fittings can be performed before the first part of the locomotive housing is connected to the further locomotive housing part.
