PURPOSE:To perform overlap recording by reversing a recording medium after stopping a recording by a main rotary head, mixing the playback signal of an auxiliary head with delay of several tracks with a prescribed video signal, and performing the recording through the main head. CONSTITUTION:Auxiliary heads A' and B' are positioned on recording tracks accurately lagging main rotary heads A and B by 2n fields. While an overlap switch is held closed after recording by heads A and B ends, turning off the trigger switch of a camera or turning on the pause switch of a VTR to turn off a switch which couples with the trigger or pause switch, rewinding a tape for a certain time through one-shot circuit. After screen inversion is held in readiness, upon triggering the camera, changes the heads A and B over to the recording sides, and the heads A' and B' reproduce signals 2n fields before the heads A and B. The reproduced signals of the heads A' and B' are mixed with recording signals inputted through an input terminal and the switch by a mixer, and the resulting signals are recorded on the tape by the heads A and B. |
