2028144 9011338 PCTABS00002 A process is disclosed for the conversion of C2-C12 paraffinic hydrocarbons to more valuable petrochemical feedstocks including C2-C4 olefins and C6-C8 aromatics in the presence of a composite catalyst comprising a binder and at least one zeolite having a Constraint Index of between 1 and 12, the composite catalyst having an alpha value of greater than 5 and less than 33. It has been found that yields of valuable C2-C4 olefins and C6-C8 aromatics are increased by maintaining the composite catalyst alpha value within the claimed range.
