PURPOSE:To enhance image quality to a large extent by connecting two digitalized receiving circuits to one vibrator in parallel to add the output signals thereof and displaying a tomographic image and/or blood flow data based on the added signal. CONSTITUTION:A preamplifier 10A receives echo signals from the respective vibrators 1-1-1-n of an array probe 1 to amplify the same and an A/D converter 10C digitalizes the output of the preamplifier 10A. An RAM 100 temporarily holds the output at every channel from the A/D converter 10C and subsequently delays said output by a predetermined time to output the same. An adder 7E digitally adds the echo signals of respective channels after delay control to send the same to a B-mode processing system 9. The envelope detection circuit 8A of the B-mode processing system 8 detects the envelope of the echo addition output and a logarithmic conversion table 8B logarithmically converts the output signal amplitude of the envelope detection circuit 8A to store the same in the image memory 6A of an image system 6.
