INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To improve durability of the medium by laminating a ring-type reflecting layer on an annular recording layer and providing a protective layer thereon extended to cover the inner circumferential and outer circumferential areas and further to be in contact directly to the disk substrate. CONSTITUTION:The dye recording layer 42 in which informations can be recorded with laser light is formed annularly on the disk resin substrate 41 having a center hole 40. Then the reflecting layer 45 is formed on the recording layer 42 so that the outer and inner circumferences of the layer 45 coincide to those of the layer 42. Excess area of the recording layer 42 not covered with the reflecting layer 45 is removed. Then the protective layer 46 is provided on the reflecting layer 45 not only to cover the surface but to cover the inner and outer circumferential ends, and further to be in contact to the substrate. Thereby, adhesion between the recording layer 42 and the reflecting layer 45 and between the reflecting layer 45 and the protective layer 46 is improved to enhance the durability of the medium.
