PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having a uniform dispersion of particles of magnetic material and a good surface smoothness, by forming a magnetic coating film on a supporting material by using magnetic paint contg. polyacrylic ester oligomer. CONSTITUTION:(A) Needle-shaped particles of ferromagnetic material having >=about 30m<2>/g ratio of surface to volume, (B) a binder resin (e.g. copolymer of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol), (c) about 0.5-4wt% polyacrylic ester oligomer (<=about 4,000 number-average molecular weight) to the particles of the magnetic material is dispersed in a solvent (e.g. methyl ethyl ketone, toluene) suitably to obtain magnetic paint. This paint is applied on a nonmagnetic supporting material and a magnetic film is formed to obtain a magnetic recording medium. |
