Self-propelled combine with two-part cutter

In a self-propelled combine with a cutter which is arranged on the slope conveyor channel (1) and which is divided into two symmetrical cutter halves (3, 4) which in the working position lie against one another via their dividing planes, the aim is for the cutter halves (3, 4) to be capable of being swivelled approximately in a horizontal plane into a transportation position in which their overall width does not exceed the permissible transportation width on public highways. For this purpose the cutter halves (3, 4) are connected to one another in the front area of the dividing planes by way of a hinge (14). In the rear area of the dividig planes there is a hinged connection to guide members (11, 12) which can be spread apart and moved together in the transverse direction of the vehicle. In the transportation position, the cutter bars (6) face each other. The guide members (11, 12) are moved with the aid of threaded spindles (13). <IMAGE>
