A disc brake for motor vehicles is presented, in which the brake disc is radially embraced from inside by a fist-shaped brake housing. The supporting and guiding elements of the housing consist of a supporting bearing (34) and a movable bearing (7). The supporting bearing (34) connects the housing (8) to the holder (6). The housing is pivotable about the supporting bearing. The housing is supported on the movable bearing, which consists of a bolt (3) which is fixedly connected directly to the wheel suspension (38). With the invention, by the clever measure of attaching the movable bearing directly to the wheel suspension and of supporting the lining tangentially in the entrance, maximum space utilisation, especially in the radial direction, enlargement of the effective radius and reduction of the thermal stress on the brake are achieved. <IMAGE>
