PURPOSE: To establish superior relation between the dispersibility of particles and the high aspect ratio of flat platy particles by regulating the quotient given by dividing the average aspect ratio of flat platy silver iodobromide particles by the coefft. of variation of all silver iodobromide particles to >=0.7. CONSTITUTION: This emulsion is an emulsion in which flat platy particles each having <0.3μm thickness have an average aspect ratio of >=12 and account for >=50% of the total projection area of all particles and the quotient given by dividing the average aspect ratio of flat platy silver iodobromide particles by the coefft. of variation of all silver iodobromide particles is regulated to >=0.7. Superior relation between the dispersibility of particles and the high aspect ratio of flat platy particles is established.
