PURPOSE: To provide a disk device in which stable speed control is possible even if the fluctuation in the disturbance load on a lamp block is large during loading and unloading. CONSTITUTION: This disk device has an actuator 9 which loads and unloads a magnetic head 2 to and from a disk 1, a drive means 10 for the actuator 9, a voltage detecting means 11 which outputs the voltage signal va generated in the drive of the actuator 9, a speed load estimating means 12 which estimates a head moving speed (v) and the magnitude of the disturbance load τd exerted on the magnetic head 2 from a drive signal (u) and the voltage signal va and outputs a speed estimation signal vest and load estimation signal τ dest, a speed control means 14 which forms and outputs the speed control signal (c) from a speed command signal vr and the speed estimation signal vest and a corrector 15 which outputs the drive signal (u) from the load estimation signal τ des and the speed control signal (c). The device carries out the loading and unloading operation at a stable speed even to the disturbance load by the friction, etc., on the lamp block 7.
