Biodegradable low density polyethylene-starch base film comprises 50- 90 wt.% of LDPE graft polymrised with vinylic polar monomer of acrylic acid, acrylonitrile or methylmethacrylate; 10-50 wt.% of starch or starch derivs.; 0.1-2 wt.% of photodegradable additives; 0.5-3 wt.% of fattic acid or fattic acid ester; 0.5-2 wt.% of sodium hydroxide or ammonium hydroxide; and 0.1-1 wt.% of plasticizer.
