摘要 PURPOSE:To readily produce D-beta-hydroxyamino acid from a mass produced starting substance by reacting glycine with an aldehyde compound such as substituted aliphatic aldehyde in the presence of D-threonine aldolase. CONSTITUTION:Glycine is reacted with an aldehyde compound such as substituted aliphatic aldehyde, e.g. chloroacetaldehyde, alicyclic aldehyde, e.g. cyclopentylaldehyde, aromatic aldehyde, e.g. benzaldehyde or heterocyclic aldehyde such as 2-thiophenealdehyde in an aqueous medium such as water, buffer solution or hydrous organic solvent, in the presence of a culture solution of a bacterium such as Alcaligenes faecalis, capable of producing D-threonine aldolase, a mold, enzyme, etc., at 10-70 deg.C for about 0.5-50 hours. Then the bacterium and protein are removed from an enzyme solution obtained by centrifugal separation or ultrafiltration and the resulting substance is separated and purified with active carbon or ion exchange resin. Consequently, industrially extremely excellent production method is obtained.
