PURPOSE:To prevent the dissipation of Bi and Pb and stabilize the quality of a superconductor by putting a superconductor material containing Bi and Pb combined with O2 and a suppressing material containing Bi and Pb in a vessel and calcining the materials in the vessel. CONSTITUTION:A superconductor material is prepared by mixing powder of Bi, Pb, Sr, Ca and Cu each combined with O2. The material is mixed with a binder and compression-molded to obtain a molded article 1. Separately, the above superconductor material is mixed with a binder and compression- molded under a pressure lower than the molding pressure of the above article 1 to obtain a suppressing material 2 containing Bi and Pb. The molded article 1 and the suppressing material 2 are put into a main body 3 of a vessel having an opening and made of a material (e.g. alumina ceramic) which is not remarkably reactive with Bi and Pb. The molded article 1 and the suppressing material 2 are separated from each other with spacers 5, 7 and powder 6, 8 having the same composition as the molded article 1. The opening of the main body 3 is closed with a lid 4 and the article is calcined in a calcination furnace. |
