A vacuum switch having two vacuum switching chambers 2, 3, which are arranged in mirror-image form in a supporting framework, is equipped with two-armed levers 7 for driving the moving contacts 5. In this case, the actuating bolts 6 are provided with a support which acts transversely with respect to the displacement direction of the bolts and is connected to the supporting framework 1. In order in this case to keep the actuating bolts 6 free of forces acting transversely with respect to the displacement direction during the switching process, the support is designed as a straight sliding guide 17 which is arranged in a fixed position and runs parallel to the displacement direction of the actuating bolt 6, and with which the actuating bolt 6 engages, that lever arm 12 which faces away from the drive 11 being freely movable transversely with respect to the displacement direction of the actuating bolt 6. <IMAGE>
