<p>PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a paper processing device by detecting a stop position based on size information and stopping the operation of the paper processing device when the moving time to the stop position of a jogging means exceeds a predetermined time. CONSTITUTION:A size moving motor 513 is driven by a size signal from the image forming device side, and a plurality of pressing elastic members 502 mounted on a main shaft 501 through timing belts 507, 508 are moved until the corresponding position of a size detecting plate 530 is detected by a size detecting sensor 531. When sheets are discharged into a bin 300, the pressing elastic member 502 is oscillated while being driven by an oscillating motor 52, paper jogging is conducted between the elastic member 502a and fences 316, 308. In this case, when the moving time to the stop position of the pressing elastic member 502 exceeds a predetermined time, the operation of a paper processing device such as a staple device is stopped. Even if an abnormality occurs in the jogging means, jamming of sheets can be prevented.</p> |
