The invention relates to a sub-calibre projectile comprising a shell body 2 consisting of a front part 10 of conical shape connected to a middle part 11 of cylindrical shape which is itself connected to a rear part 12 of frustoconical shape, a shell sabot consisting of a front cap 13, a longitudinal casing 5 and a sabot base 1. It is characterised in that the longitudinal casing 5 comprises, in its front part, deformable noses held bearing on the front conical part 10 of the shell body 9 as a result of the fastening of the cap 13 to the longitudinal casing 5.
