PURPOSE:To stably perform sterilization by equipping both a voltage regulating means and a controlling means for controlling this voltage regulating means. CONSTITUTION:Gas contg. dust and bacteria is introduced into the outer cylinder 12 of a filter device. A discharge pole 14, a dielectric particle packing layer filter 16 and a fan 18 are arranged in the outer cylinder 12. AC voltage is impressed between the electric field forming electrodes 16B, 16C via a boosting transformer 22 from an AC power source 20. Dust and bacteria contained in gas are electrified by corona discharge with the discharge pole 14. Thereby voltage is stably impressed to the dielectric particle packing layer filter and the highest performance is exhibited.
