<p>Article with insulating abrasion-resistant coating, e.g. in bearing of a small motor, is produced with a coating of glass ceramics contg. 15 wt.% or more of at least one oxide of a divalent alkaline earth metal selected from the gp. BaO, MgO, CaO, and ZnO, and 0.2-2 wt.% of an oxide of a univalent alkali metal, selected from the gp. Na2O, K2O, and Li2O. The coating is 20-200 microns thick and its centre line roughness Ra is 0.05-0.5 microns. Thermal expansion coefft. is 60-145x10-7≰C. The glass ceramic is applied electrophoretically and is then fired. Abrasion resistance is high, power consumption is reduced, and vibration noises are reduced.</p> |
