PURPOSE:To measure weight precisely by one balance, by loading both ends of the balance with bodies to be measured which are reduced in weight by fixed amounts, and detecting strain generated in the balance. CONSTITUTION:Both ends of a balance 14 are loaded with bodies 3A and 3B to be measured which are reduced in weight by fixed amounts by the reaction forces of springs 19. When the weight of the body 3A is greater than that of the body 3B, the balance 14 slants to abut on a stopper 16B. Then, strain generated in the balance 14 is detected by a strain gauge SG to obtain an output detection signal proportional to the weight obtained by subtracting the reaction force of the spring 19 from the weight of the body 3A. From this output, the weight of the body 3A is found. When 3B>3A, the weight of the body 3B is found similarly. Thus, the weights of bodies to be measured are loaded on both ends of the balance while reduced by fixed amounts, so the weight is measured precisely by one balance. |
