<p>This invention relates to a method and apparatus for isolating a biopolymer-containing sample by use of an ion exchange column chromatograph in accordance with a gradient elution process on a mass and industrial basis. Mobile phase solutions whose concentration and/or pH changes continuously with the time can be obtained by controlling the flow rates of at least two kinds of precursor solutions for a mobile phase from solution tanks (3a, 3b) over a wide range and introducing the solution into a mixer (14). The resulting mobile phase solutions are introduced into the columns (1a, 1b) and the sample is isolated inside the columns and fractionated in a fraction collector (6). The columns (1a, 1b) are regenerated alternately.</p> |
