PURPOSE:To manufacture the title ZnO varistor within a short time heat treatment with alpha value maintained at the specified level by a method wherein the heat treatment after baking process is executed under pressurized condition while the relation between the pressure and the temperature is set up in the value within specific region. CONSTITUTION:In order to manufacture the title ZnO varistor by wet-mixing zinc oxide as a main component with an additive containing several kinds of oxides in a very small quantity to be baked after granulation and formation with an organic binder added thereto and then further heat-treated, the heat treatment after baking process is executed under pressurized condition while the relation between the pressure and the temperature is set up in the value within a specific region. For example, the heat treatment after the baking process is executed in an autoclave so that the value of temperature and pressure may be contained in the region shaded by oblique lines. Furthermore, since the lower the temperature, the shorter the heat treatment time within this region, it is recommended to set up the temperature not exceeding 500 deg.C and the pressure not exceeding 300 atmospheric pressure in view of the cost installation as well. Through these procedures, the heat treatment time can be cut down with alpha value maintained at the specified level. |
