<p>An adsorption step comprising subjecting a gas to be dehumidified, which has been compressed by a compressor and made hot, to heat exchange in an after-cooler to cool the same, removing from the gas the water droplets occurring due to the condensation of the gas, passing the resultant gas through an adsorbent to dehumidify the same, storing the resultant gas under accumulated pressure, and taking out the gas as a dehumidified gas, and a regeneration step comprising regenerating the adsorbent with a low-pressure, high-temperature, highly dehumidified gas which is obtained by expanding a dehumidified high-pressure, high-temperature gas which is in turn obtained by reheating in a heating heat exchanger a high-pressure stored dehumidified gas with heat produced by heat exchanging in the after-cooler, the two steps being carried out alternatingly in a single tower packed with said adsorbent and the gas being dehumidified with the adsorbent in this single tower.</p> |
