Process for purifying the flue gases of combustion plants

A process is proposed for purifying the flue gases of combustion plants, in particular coal-fired power stations, in which aggregates melting to form a glass are added to the, in particular, heavy metal-containing fly dust (fly ash) arising and the mixture is then fused together to form a glass. From the melt, by quenching, a slag is produced which, in its chemical and physical properties, has the advantages of glass and into which the fly ash particles are optimally incorporated.
