Downstream of the valve seat 3 the nozzle body 2 has a receiving bore 4 containing a pot-shaped insert member 5, a base portion 6 of which is provided with fuel injection channels 7 opening into a preparatory bore 9 defined by a cylindrical wall portion 18 of the insert member. The base portion 6 includes a depression 10 arranged so that a space 13 is formed between the movable valve element 1 and the base portion.
